The realization of the project was actually postponed to a later date. However, when a National Ice Hockey League match had to be postponed in the fall of 2021 because shards of a broken light source kept trickling onto the ice, the project was restarted at full speed. As specialist planners for the lighting transformation of the Lido ice rink in Rapperswil, we continued to work together with the users, operations and the structural engineering department to achieve all the construction goals as quickly as possible. Despite corona-related delivery difficulties, over 100 floodlights, lighting control and emergency lighting were replaced in stages. On top of this, considerable energy savings were achieved by converting the light sources. Thanks to close cooperation with various partners, the Lido ice rink has been excellently equipped for future international games and events since August of this year. Go, SCRJ Lakers!
